We had a cat flap installed in January and it took Chatouille a while to use it. I guess it is pretty scary to have to go through such a noisy door! It took her more than 2 months to use it to get out, but then she did not know how to get back in... One of the reasons is that the cat flap is quite high from outside and short-legged as she is, she struggles a bit.
But... Hurrah! Since last weekend, she has been using it all by herself to go out and come back in! We gave her lots of praise. I even did not tell her off for bringing her muddy paws onto our clean floor.
Next step: teaching her to wipe her feet on the doormat.
